Has Bollywood been fair to you role-wise?
That I've got good roles can't be denied. Still, I'm not getting work as much as I desire, because I haven't reached a level where my name can sell a film. I can only hope that producers have faith in me.
You've played the baddie or cop frequently enough in films.
1x1 polls
Aren't you being typecast?
Though I've played the bad guy or cop a number of times in cinema and theatre, the bad guy I play in, say, Lagaan is different from the one I play in Yahaan. I don't fear being typecast, but if that happens to me, so be it.
What lies ahead?
Be it big banners or lead roles, my best is yet to come. It won't be long before I get rid of my 'also starring' image in Bollywood. Two forthcoming films in which I play the lead will hopefully change things . Besides, I look forward to working with Ashutosh Gowarikar, whom I admire.

Which city do you really call home?
Though Mumbai is where my work requires me to be, I love Delhi because that's where I honed my acting skills at the NSD and made a name for myself via 50-odd performances in theatre. Delhi is also where I first met my wife, then my NSD batchmate,
Pratibha.
